It has been an eventful couple of days, starting in Vancouver with the cancellation of our storage container delivery due to snow – got another at the last minute and loaded it in the dark (thanks Sarah and Elspeth, couldn’t have done it alone!). Mental note: next time get the shipping container delivered more than 24 hours before you’re due to leave the country!
Finally made it to the plane, and set off for Indonesia; we were foiled in getting to Jakarta on the first attempt, as JK airport was closed due to thunderstorms. After a trip to Surabaya in East Java where we sat on the plane for 3 hours, we finally landed 5 hours late. It turned out that Jakarta was flooded so the driver from Hatfield Indonesia couldn’t come and pick us up as all the roads were closed; we took a cab to Bogor which consisted of a 2 hour drive on the backroads, in the dark, with no seatbelts, and at a rather fast pace! But we made it and the house is great, despite having no drinking water or toilet paper on arrival!
Tomorrow is a new day!
