One of the main attractions for us in Jakarta is the ready availability of both wine and cheese (compared with Bogor anyway), and as we are enjoying so much great Indonesian food at home, we feel justified to spend all our time eating Western food when in JK! No Tim Horton’s unfortunately but I am considering starting a franchise as Indonesians love donuts at least as much as Canadians! The other food related treat in JK is to go to one of the fancy hotels for brunch; we recently indulged in brunch at the Four Seasons for our 5th wedding anniversary in April and we did enjoy the unlimited amounts of smoked salmon and sparkling wine. Most excitingly, there was a real German raclette which reminded us of being honorary Germans in Vancouver.
