One way for us to check out Kananaskis Country for the first time was to run along highway 40 – over the Highwood Pass, Canada’s highest paved road.
We joined the Calgary Road Runners Club team – a fun team not aiming to challenge the speed freak teams.
Andy did leg 4, a 14 km run with 265 m elevation gain. Need to do more hill training.
Gill did leg 7, a 16.5 km run with 77 m elevation gain, and overall elevation loss. Also need to do more hill training!
We both gained places for the team and had a great time cheering on the other runners. The party at the Kananaskis ski area was great – good food and Village Brewery beer. Definitely interested again next year.
