Apparently it is wet season in Bogor and is raining hard most of the time. Leaving the house means you will get completely soaked, even if you have an umbrella! Andy has been taking the car from the office in the evenings and has been braving the Bogor traffic which is no mean feat, it is complete chaos here with hundreds of mopeds weaving in and out of the traffic, angkot (public minibuses) stopping at will and people having a very loose sense of lane control. It is not unusual to see 3 lanes of traffic on a 2 lane road. At least we drive on the left though, and thank goodness we learned to drive a manual in the UK!
We are still going shopping every day, buying household items – I have a strange feeling of deja vu, after doing exactly the same thing after we arrived in Canada with only our suitcases 5 years ago! I am glad to report that we can buy bread and milk, and that the selection of conservative blouses i bought in Vancouver are appropriate.
