West Kootenays hiking – Kaslo Lake, Gwillam Lakes…

In the summer of Covid-19 we snapped up a campsite at Kokanee Creek provincial campground, north of Nelson on the West arm of Kootenay Lake. It was a great week, involving a (virtual) half marathon, two overnight backpack trips, and two epic day hikes. What a great part of the province!.

Southern Chilcotin – Spruce Lake and Sheba Ridge

To escape the crowds in the local mountains during the (first) summer of Covid19, we headed to the Southern Chilcotin. We hiked from Jewel Bridge to Spruce Lake, with a day hike up to Sheba Ridge.

Not the Tokyo marathon. Not the Nafplio marathon. Not a sabbatical.

We were all set for Tokyo Marathon and two months traveling in Japan and Europe. With two weeks to go, Tokyo Marathon was canceled, and thus unfolded a trip to Greece for a replacement marathon. In the end, the best moment of the trip was landing back in Vancouver after just two weeks away.
